Terms of Service
The understanding between the house and its clients — written plainly, in the same spirit of honesty as our work.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all restoration and conservation work performed by Kingsward Collective (“Kingsward Collective,” “we,” “us,” or “the house”), a sole proprietorship operating under the trade name “Kingsward Collective,” and any client who submits a card or other collectible for service (“you,” “the client”). By submitting a card, approving a quote, or otherwise engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
We are a conservation-minded restoration house. We do not alter cards in ways that add false value. We do not use paint, glue, or other chemicals or adhesives to disguise, rebuild, or fabricate any part of a card.
Restoration carries inherent risk. Working on aged and delicate materials can, in rare cases, lead to unexpected outcomes. By submitting a card, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume that risk.
1.The Service
Kingsward Collective performs hand restoration and conservation of trading cards and printed collectibles — including surface cleaning and polishing, edge and corner lift correction, and crease and dent recovery — each returned with a written conservation record documenting the work performed. All work is performed by commission following an individual assessment of your card.
2.No Alteration — Our Standard of Honesty
We are strictly opposed to altering cards in ways that create false value. We do not paint, ink, re-color, re-surface, or re-print any part of a card. We do not use glue, adhesives, fillers, or chemical treatments to disguise damage or fabricate condition. Our work is limited to conservation-grade techniques that respect the card’s originality.
Every commission is returned with a conservation record that discloses, in plain language, exactly what was done and every material used. We never conceal that a card has been worked on, because honest disclosure protects both the piece and its owner.
3.Inherent Risk & Assumption of Risk
Restoration is performed on aged, fragile, and often irreplaceable materials, and it carries inherent and unavoidable risk. Despite our care, experience, and use of conservative methods, outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Existing damage may prove more extensive than it appears, hidden weaknesses may respond unpredictably to treatment, and in rare cases a card may be affected in ways that cannot be reversed.
By submitting a card for assessment or service, you acknowledge that you understand these risks and voluntarily assume them. You agree that Kingsward Collective is not liable for any change in a card’s condition, appearance, grade, or value that results from restoration work performed with reasonable care, and that the sole remedy available to you is described in the Refund Guarantee below.
4.Assessment & Approval
Every commission begins with an assessment. We examine and photograph your card, confirm the appropriate service tier, and tell you plainly what can be done, what should not be, and what it will cost. No work begins until you have approved the scope and price. If assessment reveals that a card needs more extensive work than the service originally selected, we will contact you with a revised scope and price and await your approval before proceeding.
5.Pricing & Payment
Each service is offered at a transparent flat rate published on our website. You approve a figure before any work begins. If a higher service tier is required, any difference must be settled before that work begins. Payment is due as agreed at the time of approval; we do not begin treatment until payment arrangements are confirmed.
6.Turnaround
Most commissions are returned within two to four weeks, depending on the work involved and the current queue. Because treatment proceeds in careful stages, any timeline we provide is a good-faith estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date. We will keep you informed if a commission requires additional time.
7.Shipping, Insurance & Transit Risk
Inbound (to us): You are responsible for safely packaging your card and for shipping it to us using a tracked, insured method. Risk of loss or damage in transit to the house rests with you, the sender. We strongly recommend appropriate insurance for the card’s value, as we cannot be responsible for loss or damage that occurs before a card reaches our hands.
Return (to you): We return every completed commission in protective housing via tracked, insured transit at our arrangement. We bear responsibility for the card during its insured return shipment to the address you provide. It is your responsibility to provide a correct, complete shipping address.
8.The Conservation Record
Every returned card is accompanied by a sealed conservation record: before-and-after photography, the sequence of interventions performed, and a list of every material used. This record is provided for transparency and provenance. It is a documentary account of our work and is not an appraisal, grade, certification, or guarantee of market value.
9.Refund Guarantee & Limitation of Remedy
We do not guarantee any increase in grade, raw value, or the complete removal of all damage, because no two pieces of damage are alike and some prove beyond repair. What we do guarantee is a refund of the service fee in the rare instance that restoration adds no discernible value to the card, or where we determine before work begins that a card is too damaged to be treated responsibly. This refund is your sole and exclusive remedy. Shipping charges and any third-party costs are non-refundable.
10.Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kingsward Collective’s total liability arising from or relating to any commission shall not exceed the amount you paid for that commission. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or speculative damages, including any claimed loss of market, grading, resale, or sentimental value. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11.Your Representations
By submitting a card, you represent that you are its lawful owner or are authorized to submit it for service, that it was obtained legally, and that you have the authority to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for disclosing any known prior restoration, repair, or treatment, as undisclosed prior work can affect outcomes.
12.Cancellation
You may cancel a commission at any time before treatment begins for a full refund of the service fee. Once treatment has begun, work already performed is billable and the commission may no longer be fully refundable. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue any commission — for example, where a card is too fragile to treat responsibly, where authenticity or ownership is in question, or where the requested work falls outside our standard of honesty — and will return the card and any prepaid fee for work not performed.
13.Privacy
We collect only the information needed to perform and return your commission and to communicate with you. We do not sell your personal information. Photographs taken as part of the conservation record may be used, in anonymized form and without identifying you, to document our work — for example, as before-and-after examples — unless you ask us in writing not to do so.
14.Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Comal County, Texas.
15.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time your commission is accepted governs that commission. The current version is always available on this page.
